O afeto e a aceitação da pessoa com autismo são componentes essenciais do programa Son-Rise. É utilizado há mais de 30 anos no exterior, e agora possui representantes em nosso país. O programa depende da participação intensa dos pais e da ajuda de voluntários abertos para aceitar o autista e implicados no programa.
O Tratamento biológico é baseado na normalização das funções bioquímicas do organismo, além do aumento da imunidade e eliminação de possíveis metais pesados presentes no organismo (destacando alumínio, chumbo e mercúrio). Há também as dietas sem glúten e caseína, suplementação de vitamina B6, e uso de câmara hiperbárica.

A utilidade dos diversos tratamentos dependerá de fatores individuais e situacionais. Para um determinado indivíduo, um modelo pode mostrar-se mais eficiente do que outro.
